“Yup, I already booked my tickets.” The crème brûlée has arrived and she’s licking the spoon as if more dessert will magically appear from it if she continues. Her lips envelop the spoon as her tongue glides along it. Over and over. She’s fucking killing me.

“So, when will you be licking?”

She raises an eyebrow. “Huh?”

Dammit. Think about something else quick! Grandma Edith in a bikini.

“Uh . . . when will you be leaving? From Phoenix, I mean.” I blink a couple of times to jolt myself out of focusing on her lips and that fucking spoon. God, how I wish I was that spoon right now.

“I’m on the same flight as you, I think. Joy booked the flights, getting back to San Jose from Phoenix for all of us.”

She takes another spoonful of the crème brûlée and licks the spoon clean, completely oblivious to my agony. My eyes narrow in on her lips and I can’t take it anymore. “Avni, in the name of everything holy, stop licking that goddamn spoon or this is going to become a very unprofessional meeting,” I growl.

Her eyes become wide as realization dawns on her, making her face flush. A mischievous smile forms on her lips and that damn twinkle is back in her eyes. “Sorry.”

Yeah, she looks real fucking sorry.

“Hold on to your hats, my reader friends, because there’s a new writer on the romance scene, and her terrific debut novel is well worth the read. Her voice is seasoned and compelling, and this first offering has more polish and shine than some traditionally published books. . .” – Goodreads Reviewer

After sitting next to him on a flight to Delhi eight years ago, I didn’t think I’d ever see the tall, green-eyed gorgeous stranger again. Except in my dreams.

But now, Clark Cooper is the COO of my company and I’m going to have a lot more to lose than just my job if we act on our undeniable attraction. We’ve traveled very different roads over the past eight years and carry a lot of baggage. We’re both fueled by guilt. My guilt adheres me to marry the man my orthodox Indian parents choose. His guilt has him running from relationships, let alone marriage.

But you know what they say about the things we can’t have. We always want them.

About the Author:I prefer to call myself a storyteller rather than an author. I’m a mom of two beautiful little girls and a wife to a wonderful and supportive husband. My days start with caffeine and sometimes end with a glass (or three) of wine.I’m a Texas raised Indian American currently living in the Bay Area. With a degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas and an MBA, I’ve had a successful career building software products but writing is both my hobby and my passion. As an avid reader, some of my favorite books are The Nightingale, by Kristin Hannah, The Art of Racing in the Rain, by Garth Stein, and A Man Called Ove, by Fredrick Backman. I will also pretty much inhale any contemporary romances written by Melanie Harlow, Colleen Hoover, and Christina Lauren. For me, writing and reading are an escape from real life. I love meeting and creating characters who I’d love to take out for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. My goal as a storyteller is to distract my readers from their daily grind with stories about everyday couples finding and fighting for incredible love with the help of a little luck.
