Being traded to Dallas was a dream come true. I had everything I wanted, my game had never been better, and my wife was due to have our baby any day now.
My Review
I’ve quickly become a huge fan of Natasha’s writing and I really love hockey. These two have yet to merge for me, until now. Holy cow was this one a good one!!! From the beginning I knew I’d love Candace. From how dedicated to her work she was to the absolute devotion to her family, she had me hooked. Same goes for Ralph though, who isn’t a sucker for a NHL star single dad? SIGN ME UP PLEASE!
I really loved how we got some insta-love in this book, but we also got slow burn, and a lot of nitty gritty in between areas. I really loved how Candace and Ralph met, how it was strictly for business, but the moment they met there were explosive fireworks! ANDDDDD Ariella had sooo much to do with that. Who wouldn’t love a precious baby?? Candace quickly had become more than just someone to help Ralph with his career and I adored how this helped them grow close. These two were sooo smitten with each other and resisted for so long. I LOVE slow burns like this. Where you know it NEEDS TO HAPPEN, but they resist tooo much. BUT Natasha is super awesome and makes nothing easy. There were definitely a ton of obstacles between these two finding their happy and I loved that so much. Everything about these two was amazing. From their banter, to the ease around each other, their devotion to Ariella, to falling in love. It was all just one big happy “sigh”.
This book also had sooo many amazing secondary characters, which I always love. I really loved how the people in their lives either were family or like family. Many of Candace’s clients were close with her, then we also had Evan, Zara and Zoey (WHO IS THE BEST) and Ralph with Becca and their awesome Coach. These people all mad such a significant impact! These people all helped Candace and Ralph truly find their way. Sometimes it takes a shove here and there or some really awesome people in your life to have your back. There was so much of both of these things in this book.
I can’t wait to see who is next and what we get to see from some of these characters in the future!
