Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.
I’m the one who broke up the golden couple. The woman people still whisper about, point at, and give dirty looks to.
Did I sleep with the prom king? No. Did I sleep with the town’s golden boy on vacation from college? Yes.
Did I believe that he was going to marry me? Wholeheartedly.
Did he? Not even close. He got engaged right in front of me and then his father threw two hundred dollars at me and told me to take the trash out.
So, I raised my son in a town where people love him because they think that his father is the sheriff.
It was going great, everything was working out till my lie got out.
I was getting ready to take over the mayoral office from my father, who was my hero.
Until I heard the secret he hoped would stay buried forever.
My brother has a son, not just any son but a son with the woman who was my best friend.
The woman I secretly have loved from the moment she stood up to me and broke my nose in kindergarten.
I need to protect her and in order to do that, we need to get married.
Too bad her nightmare is my dream come true.
I have been completely enamored by the series. It has totally consumed my life. I knew that this book was going to be special, amazing, and really different from the others. We saw the simmer that was happening between Savannah and Beau, and I was super excited to see when this was finally going to come to a boil! We only got a taste of it, but this had to be one of the slowest burns in existence. These two had so much passion and fire that was hiding. I was so, so, so excited when they finally became a couple. Now, it took a long time to get to this part. But, that was one of the best things about the story. You didn’t get instant gratification, there was no Insta love, this was a torturous romance. That is why it was so perfect. It isn’t like other romance as you typically read about, this one had many dirty pieces that got in the way. I loved the amount of drama in this book. There has been a lot of drama throughout the series, but I could not wait to see what was going to happen with Beau’s family.I don’t think anything could have prepared me for the second half of this book. There were so many amazing moments, absolutely crazy moments, and an amazing amount of plot twists. The best part was the ending was in multiple stages. I love an amazing epilogue and this one had multiple. We also got the best taste for the next book and I am dying to get more!!!
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals.
You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips.
It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
