Bria du Mont and Damien du Sky have been in love for as long as they can remember. Neighbors and best friends since childhood, they planned to be together forever.

That is until Damien seeks to propose to Bria on her eighteenth birthday and finds her in bed with another man.

Bria has no memory of how she ended up in that situation, but Damien still leaves her. Traumatized by his departure, she develops broken heart syndrome and becomes emotionally numb in her search for closure.

Meanwhile, Damien drowns his pain in alcohol before becoming a ruthless CEO and a playboy who refuses to let himself love again.

Prisoners of their past, Bria and Damien prove incapable of staying away from each other. They dig deeper into the fateful night which tore them apart and uncover secrets which will threaten all they know and challenge the meaning and strength of true love.

My Review

I have sooo many thoughts on this book! For a debut book, Nivia really blew this one out of the park! I ADORE the story line soooo much. There were a few things that bugged me though. In the middle, the plot crawled some, I think to be more dramatic. At the beginning, the back and forth between characters and time was a little choppy, but really did pick up to a great rhythm. Lastly, one of my biggest pet peeves is when the main characters are IDIOTS lol. All of this being said, I LOVED THEM SO MUCH!!!!

With all of the less favorable parts out of the way, I need to RAVE about Bria and Damien. First, I love how they are aristocrat like, almost as if it were present day mixed with the early 1900s. It felt super old school, which their families were, but with some of the technology of today. I LOVED that mix! I’m really not big on historical, but I really loved the old air feel of this story. Could also be because they weren’t in the US. They are privileged snobs here LOL.

The amount of heart wrenching pain we felt for Damien and more-so Bria in the story was at times unbearable. The anguish that she dealt with really ate away at me fore a while. I hate feeling angst about a plot, but this one I couldn’t stop reading!! The health problems that Bria had to deal with because of something that she didn’t even remember was GOD AWFUL! And then Damien. I can totally understand the pain he was going through also, but he was SUCH a dick about it! Then you add Alex in the mix, and he just confuses me. I love how devoted he was to Bria, but I love his role with Damien as well.

Now, back to them being IDIOTS! These were characters that I Really wish would just spit out “I STILL LOVE YOU AND WANT TO BE WITH YOU!” BUT, if that happened, then we wouldn’t really have a book plot would we? Nothing can be that easy, lol but these two were especially frustrating. Down to the very last chapter of this book I wanted to strangle both of them. Because I wanted to strangle them so much, I was really left on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen. And now, now I have to wait lol. Amazing job with that end ing Nivia!! You have me panting and begging for more!
