The Wild Child. That’s me. A loud and crazy former Park Avenue princess who just fell from grace. I went from traveling the world to making copies and fetching coffee for Satan.

Okay, so my boss isn’t really Satan. But he might as well be.

Brody Connors is infuriating, incorrigible, unsympathetic, stern, and…gorgeous. Yes, he’s a handsome devil. A large man of few words with the body of an action hero, a face sent from the heavens and the mannerisms of Lucifer.

But sexy as hell or not, he’s still my evil boss. And I need to keep this job. So that’s all he can be, right?

***An office romantic comedy perfect for those who enjoy zany heroines and the sexy bosses they exasperate.

“Well? Care to explain what that was all about?”

I run my hand across his smooth, cherry wood desk. The surface feels cold, but not too cold, against my palm. “Just trying to get your attention.”

“Now that you have it, what do you want?”

My fingers slowly glide across the surface, my eyes taking in just how cluttered it is. Stacks of paper, a phone, and a laptop cover the desk. “Have I been a bad girl? Did you bring me in here to punish me?”

He doesn’t say anything, but there’s a heated gleam in his gaze. Okay, fine. Maybe I have to kick it up a notch.

I gently set his laptop on an empty shelf on one of the bookcases lining his wall. The phone receives the same treatment. As for the papers…With one sweeping motion of my arm, those are quickly disposed of.

“Are you insane?” There’s a vein popping near his temple and for about five seconds, I worry I’ve taken things a smidgen too far.

But, look, this isn’t me. I have no idea where this sudden burst of sexual confidence came from. I haven’t been this forward or provocative with a guy in over a decade. And it feels good to be the one to force Brody over the edge. It’s a level of power I’ve never experienced before and I’m not ready to let it slip away just yet.

Unzipping my skirt, I slide it and my panties down before stepping out of them. Then I bend over his desk, with my stomach laying on the cold wood surface and my ass in the air. Angling my face to one side, I sneak a peek at him. And his eyes have practically popped out of their sockets. Perfect.

“How about now? Are you ready to punish me now?”

My Review

I could NOT put this book down!!! From the moment I start reading I couldn’t stop. Everything about Charlotte enticed me, I was so curious about her. I mean who travels and doesn’t even have an apartment where they stay at while home? I always wondered about her in the previous book.
To see how she transforms as a person and how we get to see who she truly is, that’s inspiring. I think I’m with almost every reader in saying that we were judging her based on her being rich and having no roots, but she’s such an amazing and inspiring person!! And Brody, who’s name is so fitting, makes up so many parts of the layers of this story. His reaction to her and how he learns from her is astounding. I find it so ironic that these two end up paired up.
I can’t wait to see where else Natalie takes us, I hope we get more!!

About Natalie Rios

Natalie Rios bio pic (1)

Natalie can’t sing. Or dance. Or play an instrument. She can’t ride a bike and doesn’t know how to swim or drive. As a result, her husband often asks “Are you sure you’re not really from Mars?” (the answer, in case you were wondering, is no. Unless New York counts as another planet). When she’s not geeking out at her day job, Natalie can be found attempting to wrangle her overly energetic Westie, baking ridiculously chewy chocolate chip cookies, and watching so-bad-it’s-good reality television shows.
