Hello loves!!!! As many of you know Jay McLean is one of my favorite authors and I’ve adored everything I’ve read of hers. Below I’ve also included my reviews for Kick Push and for Coast!!!
RELEASE DAY BLITZ
COAST (Kick Push 2) – by Jay McLean
Series: The Road #3, Kick Push #2
Release Date: June 7, 2016
BLURB
One life-changing summer.
One boy.
The boy.
The boy who offered me safe touches and heart-stopping smiles – smiles he shared with his son.
We filled our days with porch-step kisses,
filled our ears with laughter,
filled our hearts with love.
Deep, soul-aching, desperate love.
But love is misleading.
It’s an invisible, fleeting moment.
Somewhere between false adoration and pure hatred comes an emotion, a vulnerable need, a single desire.
It lives within the ones who miss it, who crave it,
who know better than to expect it.
Love is relentless.
Even when that love turns to hate, turns to loathing,
turns to pain.
Love should heal you.
But it can also break you.
Believe me, I know…
Because I’m Becca Owens – a broken girl…
…And he’s Josh Warden – the boy who broke me.

Kick Push Review:
YOU GUYS!!! SHE DID IT, AGAINNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jay is so amazing with her writing. You feel every single feel and emotion that a person might be able to emit. She is best at transforming you into the character that you are reading. I felt like I was Josh or that I was Becca. Both of them have so much history and so much that they had dealt with at ages that they shouldn’t have had to, but they also both rose above it all.
Josh is so amazing, he’s the best dad, the best friend and just overall a great guy! And Tommy ❤ He’s so darn adorable! Josh did such a good job raising him. Then Becca comes along and finally Josh sees someone that catches his eye. He really helps her come out of her shell. They really, truly helped each other find who they were and who they wanted to be. They allowed each other to be found.
Her theme of “seeing” each other through out this series is so inspiring. I’ve never thought of the phrase in the way that Jay used it, and she was right. Becca and Josh being together really helped them see each other and themselves in a better light. Then there’s also “Kick, Push, Coast.” Never would I thought that a skate boarding term would have been so significant! But really, it’s so true. Some times you just need to set back and let life take you on a journey, and man did Jay take us on one.
Now let’s talk about this ending… I purposely waited to read this until Coast was coming out and MAN am I glad I did!!! The end tore me to pieces… bring it on Jay, Bring it on!!!
Coast Review:
Oh sweet baby Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!! This book could NOT have been any more amazing! This book left me so complete after Kick Push. I was pretty upset at the end of KP. I felt abandoned just like Josh did. But, Josh and Becca, they kept going. They kept coasting. They didn’t let their lives stop because they were a little bit dead on the inside. It was fate that something separated them. They both needed to grow a little bit more and the needed to continue to find themselves, to make themselves perfect for each other. And that is exactly what they did. They needed to get to a certain point in their lives before they could truly be back together.
Let’s start with Josh. I was so excited that Chris came into his life, and that him and his father made amends. Chris and his father really made a big impact during this time of his life, together they didn’t let him drown. They made him keep going with his life, to keep living and raise his son. But most of all, they helped him see. See himself for what he wanted to be, and see what he really needed in his life.
Now Becca, she grew even more. Going through everything that she did toward the end of KP and the beginning of this book seeing her grow and be her own woman was amazing. I was also so happy to see her father become part of her life. Together the two of them made such a great life, and when Josh came back, it only became better.
Their time apart was kind of perfect, even though it was flawed. It took them a while to realize that it was something that was necessary. To be together they needed to learn how to be themselves and get to where they wanted to be. And the one that helped the most was Gram/Ma’am. Her presence in these two novels was astounding. She was what really tied the two of them together, even when she couldn’t do it herself.
Thank you Jay. Thank you for making the perfect ending to the perfect book. It was the first time I really felt satisfied at the end of a series ❤
